However, you will be paying an arm and a leg for a genuine Kohler brand starter. Just search eBay or Amazon. Notice the headlamps are powered by their own stator winding and only work with the engine running. Looks like mid-1989 they changed to the 15 amp charging system with a voltage regulator and the headlamps run off the battery so will work ...
