SLDL. I had a similar problem. I discovered something that was in front of the TV not the box was blocking these buttons from working. I don't understand why but after I moved the item the mute and volume buttons worked. I have a Samsung TV and the volume control on my AT&T remote doesn’t control volume on TV.
