Micro-Groove Barrel. The two-letter code on the left side near the receiver is KG. The serial number on the upper tang is MR00875C.That is a good question. According to a sheet, that gives production numbers made each year, for each Model 39A made from 1952 to 1975. According to your gun, someone miscounted. But the 39 was in priduction from 1921 to 1938. Initially serial numbers had no prefix. Then the “S” prefix followed. After that came the HS prefix. so your is in the latter part. If original, your front sight might help narrow it down but there are ni records by year matching up serial numbers.
