Nov 19, 2017 · Engine Hot A/C Off - 2010 Impala. Seems like a fairly common issue affecting these vehicles. A little over two weeks ago I started with the cheapest fix and replaced the coolant temp sensor, reset the battery and cleared the codes. Everything was fine until yesterday when the message came back. Hi I have a Chevy Equinox 2008. The thermostat was changed, but it was laid up for a month because I had to change the computer, the water pump, the coolant bottle and the transmission. I went on a test run and when I turned the air condition on, the gauge automatically went to 0 and the turn a/c off engine hot warning was on dash board.For some reason the Engine Control Module is sensing an overtemp of the engine coolant. In this case the ECM program will disable A/C clutch engagement and turn the mentioned light "on". The ECM probably also turns this light 'on' when you go to WOT.
