The initial diagnosis by my GMC Service Dept, was a failed steering box which was replaced at a cost to me of $1,300. Two weeks later the same problem re-occurred.The 2010 GMC Acadia has 514 problems & defects reported by Acadia owners. Here are the symptoms: 1) Engine Overheating/Turn off A/C message flashing. 2) Engine temp in traffic with A/C on runs close to 250. 3) Engine temp without A/C on runs around 240. 4) Turning the heater on brings the temp down to 220-230.
