Sep 10, 2007 · A5Mag12. No the gun does not need to be taken down. It does need some cleaning of the mag tube though. Pull the keeper out of the mag tube being carefull of the spring tension. swab the tube out real good, make sure the follower is slipping nice and free the length of the tube, put a little lube on it and reassemble. my hypothesis is that the bolt latch assembly is bent and causing the latch to not engage properly. if i put my hand on the inside of the receiver and apply pressure to the latch assembly, the latch will then engage and hold the bolt open. My plan was to replace the latch assembly to see if that fixes the issue.Browning A5 doesn't eject when fired.
