Hardest part is splitting the tractor, once trans is out, disassemble get a rebuild kit, replace all your bearings, bushings, check gears for excessive wear, replace if needed, I like doing rebuilds on cold winter days so I can leave shafts outside nice and cold and heat bushings a little so they slide on easy. Very few parts seem to have been changed or cobbled on. It had been parked in a corn crib, non-running, for about 20 years. With the production schedules Ford was running when the 8N started up in July, 1947, it is very likely this tractor was built during the first week of production of 8N's.
