Not all HD engines have the quadrajet to TBI adapter plate. My personal opinion, the TBI system just needs to pump more fuel/air into a performance 454. The quadrajet and HEI are the least expensive, provided good used parts are available.you need to either get a lower pressure in tank pump, a regulator to knock the pressure down to 6 psi, or get rid of the in tank pump and run a mechanical pump. then you need to get an older HEI distributor. this will render the computer irrelevant, so all that wiring can then be taken out- which really opens up the engine bay.
