Back when they used USGI parts and before BULA started new production parts. JRA was using some Criterion barrels at that time and there was a batch that had rough chambering. My rifle was unfortunately one of them.Didn’t mean to offend about the “better than average” comment. I wasn’t aware a box stock M14 was as accurate as your talking. I bought the rifle from SARCO for $900.00; fully assembled and head spaced. This is a cast receiver made by James River and looks to be cleanly milled and fits the stock tightly.
